Bagan, Burma is a holy site. A place where the Burmese have traditionally come to build shrines to those who have passed. Although most of the shrines are ancient, the newly wealthy in the country have begun to build shrines here once again. And the ruling junta have begun to realize the value of the area as a potential tourist destination. However, for the people who still call the area home, life goes on. The grandour of the site means little to those who struggle to survive on a daily basis.
